Directory of manufacturers, distributors and prosthetic clinics

Who makes the knee you wear. Who imports it into Poland. Who builds your prosthesis out of it. These are three different companies, and it helps to know which one does what before you start looking.

Prosthetic components: a microprocessor knee, a carbon fibre foot, a socket, a liner, an adapter and a myoelectric hand

Manufacturer, distributor, clinic. Not the same thing

Search online for a prosthesis manufacturer and you get two completely different things at once. One is a company that makes a knee, a foot or a hand. The other is the prosthetic clinic in your town. Both are formally manufacturers and both are right, they simply do different work.

A component manufacturer makes parts. Knees, feet, liners, adapters, myoelectric hands. Its product is the same for everyone and sits on a warehouse shelf. None of them will build a prosthesis specifically for you.

A distributor brings those components into Poland and sells them to clinics. It has no contact with people after amputation. It matters for a different reason: if a brand has no channel into Poland, you cannot realistically order its components.

A prosthetic clinic takes those parts, measures you, makes the socket and assembles the whole thing. It is the only one of the three you will visit in person. It is formally a manufacturer too, because a finished prosthesis is a device custom-made for one person.

That is why this directory is split rather than lumped together. Putting it all in one place misleads readers exactly where they need clarity most. The section on NFZ-contracted clinics is being built separately, because every entry has to be checked against the reimbursement lists by prosthetic product code, and that takes time.

What this directory does not contain, and why

No prices, no scores, no rankings, and no statements about who a given component is for.

The first reason is practical. Choosing a component is a decision made by your doctor and prosthetist after examining your residual limb, your mobility level and what your ordinary day looks like. The same type of component gets prescribed to people of very different ability, in different designs and for different reasons. A shortcut read online usually flattens that.

The second reason is legal. A descriptive directory is information. A directory with rankings and superlatives is advertising of a medical device, which means entirely different rules and entirely different liability. We stay on the clear side of that line deliberately.

There are also no fees for a listing. No company paid to appear here and none can. The criterion is single and public: the company manufactures or imports prosthetic components for limbs, and for clinics, holds an NFZ contract for limb prosthesis codes.

Component categories

For each company you will see which of the categories below it offers. The list is the same for everyone so entries can be compared.

Lower limb

Upper limb

  • passive and cosmetic prostheses
  • body-powered prostheses
  • myoelectric hands
  • multi-grip hands
  • finger prostheses
  • control systems and electrodes
  • elbow and wrist components

Separately

Some of these terms have their own entry in the glossary.

Updates and corrections

We review the directory once a quarter. Every subpage shows the date it was last verified.

Is a company missing that should be here? Has something changed, an address moved, a company closed? Write to us through the contact form, subject „Manufacturer directory". We will check and correct it at the next review, and immediately for obvious errors.

We publish the parts of this directory one by one. Every subpage shows the date its data was last verified.

Informational directory: a listing here is not a recommendation or a rating. Choosing components and building a prosthesis is a decision made together with your doctor and prosthetist, after examination.
