Prosthetics in Real Life
Prosthetics and component testing in real-world conditions - from a user's perspective.
Accessibility (WCAG 2.2)
One organised portal with knowledge about prosthetics, rehabilitation and everyday life after amputation - created together with people who have already walked this path.
Who is this portal for
Find content and support tailored to your situation - click the path that applies to you.

Community
The Świat Bioniki community connects amputees, their families, therapists and specialists. Here you'll find support, first-hand knowledge and mentoring.
YouTube Channel
Each programme is a separate series with a different perspective - from prosthetics tests to step-by-step education.
Foundation
After my amputation, I searched for reliable knowledge about prosthetics. The information was scattered: in catalogues, on forums, in conversations with other patients. What was missing was one place that gathers this knowledge and explains it plainly: how a prosthesis works, what to ask a prosthetist, how to handle the formalities. Świat Bioniki exists so that the next person after amputation has an easier path than I did. I run this portal as a prosthesis user who has been testing equipment in daily life for years. All the knowledge is free and independent.
3 pillars of the foundation
Prosthetic Education
We translate prosthetics into the language of the patient. How a prosthesis works, how to navigate the NFZ and PFRON system, what to ask before signing a cost estimate. Knowledge written from the perspective of an everyday prosthesis user.
Life After Amputation
Amputation changes daily life, but it does not end it. We write about rehabilitation, emotions, returning to work and sport. We bring together amputees, their families and specialists in one community.
Direct Beneficiary Support
Real help for a real person: a PFRON application, choosing a specialist, a conversation when things get hard. This pillar will launch fully once the foundation completes its KRS registration.
“Every person after amputation deserves independent knowledge - before they start choosing a prosthesis.”- Artur Wąsowicz, founder of the Świat Bioniki Foundation
Innovations and Research
We track the latest research and technologies that are already changing the lives of amputees - describing them in language anyone can understand.
Carbon fibre, titanium, composite polymers - modern prosthetics are lighter and better suited to everyday activity.
Advanced electronic systems react to movement, speed and terrain in real time, increasing safety and gait fluidity.
We track research on neural interfaces, myoelectric sensors and exoskeletons - describing their potential applications.
